'Who ever loved that loved not at first sight?' said Shakespear, and as I recount this beautiful marriage of love between Mariam, and Miron, it will become apparent, why veracity of Shakespeare's words is beyond reckoning.
The story begins in Solothurn, a quaint town in the heart of Switzerland, which Miron and Mariam fondly call home.
The day of the wedding is something that makes the best of us edgy, not in the way when we're edgy before our dentist appointment, but rather going on our first date with someone we have a huge crush on.
Episode 1: As we pulled into their driveway in the morning, at first glance we saw Mariam brimming with joy, excitement, and jitters. Walking with her, we saw her getting dressed up for the big day, the wedding flowers, and the dress had been meticulously chosen to enunciate a hint of glow amidst the artistic effervescence. As we took shots of the close moments of Mariam getting ready under the amiable auspices of her family, the whole room reverberated with affection. Mariam's sister helper her with the make up while her mom helped with the dress, covertly brushing a tear as she dressed up her daughter for her special day.
Episode 2: We drove to the forest lodge to sneak a peek into their wedding celebration location. Coincidentally, this is where Miron was getting ready under the abutment of his closest ones. Following the winding road leading up to the house, with golden sun filtering though the canopy of trees, we found Miron sleekly donning a suite, next to the beautiful table spread for dinner later on with the whole family. The whole place had been thoughtfully decorated with little touches like the mini flower bouquets which lent the warmth to the whole setting.
Episode 3: We drove to the administration house where the wedding would be formalised. The house was on the banks of Aare river, and there was champagne to celebrate the signing of wedding deed. The wedding event was sober event, with Mariam and Miron sharing short vows written with heartfelt emotions, moving the audience to tears, in 7 languages, no less!
Episode 4: Miron and Mariam strode out of the administration house, seeing the first sun as a married couple. After an overjoyed exchange of greeting, the couple popped the champagne, while everyone excitedly beheld the couple's rings, awe inspired by the love! This was followed by throwing of bridal flowers, and thus bestowing the gift of imminent wedding on the fortunate catcher. Facetiously, the flowers twice hopped into the hands of already married couple!
Episode 5: We took a small stroll in the beautiful city of Solothurn, showing the guests best spots in the old town.
Episode 6: We arrived in the forest lodge to celebrate the couple's special day together. After a warm session sharing homemade mulled wine, and aperitif prepared assiduously by Mariam and her family, we gathered outside, under the shimmering light filtered through the tree. The guests stood enraptured by the beautiful setting: the soothing sound of river flowing behind the wooden portal which the couple prepared, while they exchanged their vows of love, and the balming sun shone on our faces. Some storied made the guests chuckle, while other sobering stories reminded of what love forever means!
Episode 7: As we sat on the dining table, sharing the delicious meal prepared by Mariam and her family, everyone was overjoyed at sharing the incredible day, recounting the stories and reminiscing of our first encounters with the couple and what we cherish the most about them!
Episode 8: Save the best for the last! We tried the delicious cake prepared with love, by Mariam, as the exquisite day drew to a close, carrying sweet memories with us, forever, leaving fond blessings for the newly weds. Where there is love, there is life.
And they lived happily ever after !
